IO Interactive has announced that its stealth-action title Hitman 3 is coming to Xbox Game Pass and PC Games Pass on January 20, bringing the best-selling game in the franchise to subscribers at no additional cost. The game will also appear on Steam on the same date, after a year-long exclusivity on the Epic Games Store.
Alongside the announcement, developer IO Interactive said it is adding VR support for the game on PC this month, and also unveiled the updates and content that will come to Hitman 3 as part of its Year 2 roadmap.
The game will introduce an Elusive Target Arcade mode, which will task players with taking out elusive targets in a specific order. Unlike regular Elusive Targets, Arcade will be a permanent feature in the game.
Later this year, the game will also add Freelancer, a mode with roguelike elements requiring strategic planning, and where Agent 47 will start out in a customizable safe house. The objective is to progress through Freelancer with different play styles and setups to unlock more areas and customisation options for the safehouse.
IO also plans to add ray tracing support to the PC version of Hitman 3 later in the year to enable improved shadows and reflections.
