With the holidays around the corner, most live-service games are getting Christmas-themed events, and Call of Duty is no different. Publisher Activision has just announced a Christmas event called Festive Fervor for both Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Vanguard.
The Festival Fervor event kicks off on December 14 and will end on December 25, and here’s what it brings to the table:
- Holiday-themed Shipment map
- New mode called Elf Team Six hunting, where you and your team have to find elves hidden across Pacific and Vanguard
- 10 Battle Pass tier skips and a 10% Seasonal XP Boost
- 4 new Holiday bundles
- New Christmas-themed challenges and rewards
- Being Hunted by a creature called Krampus if you don’t play the objective
In addition to this event, Call of Duty: Vanguard will have a free multiplayer weekend from December 15 to December 21 for those who were on the fence. You’ll have full access to the game’s multiplayer, and if you’re the dedicated kind, you could easily hit prestige during that period.
Call of Duty’s latest Warzone map, called Caldera, was released December 2 and takes place in the Pacific theatre. But what was to be a joyous occasion for fans turned sour as the game has been plagued by issues since launch. Apart from annoying ones like sound desyncing or stuttering, players are reporting crashes, freezes and some are also unable to play the game.
Warzone’s instability has also affected 2019’s Modern Warfare as a lot of players are unable to load into the game after the Caldera update. Vanguard – the Call of Duty game released this year – is playable but has its own share of issues with hackers, broken spawns and a huge drop in sales.
