If you’re an Xbox Game Pass subscriber and have been on the fence about Rainbow Six: Extraction, there’s good news. The co-op tactical shooter will be arriving on Xbox Game Pass – for PC as well – on January 20, so subscribers will be able to join paying customers on day one itself.
In addition, Rainbow Six: Siege, which is currently only available Game Pass subscribers on Xbox, will also be making its way to PC Game Pass the same day.
“By making Rainbow Six Extraction available to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members on the day and date of its launch via Xbox Game Pass, we’re demonstrating that we believe in the value and choice that game subscriptions offer to players,” said Chris Early, Ubisoft’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development.
Rainbow Six Extraction is a co-op PvE spin on the successful tactical PvP base built by Rainbow Six Siege. It will see players teaming up with up to 3 other players as well-known Siege operators to take on an alien force laying…eh, siege… to planet Earth.
Extraction will offer 18 operators at launch, along with several weapons and gadgets to choose from as players strategise with their buddies to take down the alien menace and extract captured allies.
Ubisoft+ coming to Xbox, but not Game Pass… yet
In addition to bringing Rainbow Six Extraction to Game Pass on day one, Ubisoft also announced that its subscription service Ubisoft+ will be coming to Xbox soon.
Ubisoft+ is currently only available for PC and features over 100 games, including the latest entries from popular Ubisoft franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Ghost Recon, Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell, and more. The subscription is priced at €14.99 a month, with no local pricing for India.
Ubisoft is following in the footsteps of EA, which also offers its EA Play service on the Xbox and PlayStation platforms in addition to PC. However, EA Play is also available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on PC. Ubisoft has not specified if Ubisoft+ will only be making it to Xbox consoles as a separate subscription or if it will also be part of Game Pass in some capacity.
What does seem clear is that – for now at least – Ubisoft+ will only be making its way to Xbox consoles.
“Rainbow Six Extraction for Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members is just the beginning. Ultimately, we will offer the Ubisoft+ subscription service to Xbox owners so that they can enjoy the full extent of our Ubisoft+ game library, including new releases, on their consoles.”
Do you expect Ubisoft+ to eventually make it to PC Game Pass? Which is the first game you’ll jump into if it does? Let us know in the comments.
