Evil Dead: The Game, developed by Saber Interactive, now has a May 2022 release date. The game was initially supposed to release in 2021, after which it got pushed back to February. Here’s hoping third time’s the charm.
Here’s what was shared on the game’s official Twitter page:
Hey Evil Dead fans!
When we set out to create a brand new game worthy of the Evil Dead franchise, we knew it had to be groovy as hell. In order to deliver the best possible experience, Evil Dead: The Game is now coming on May 13, 2022
This delay gives our team the time they need to get things just right, so your boomstick will be polished, fully loaded, and ready to blast Deadites on that Friday the 13th of May. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Based on the beloved horror franchise of the same name, Evil Dead: The Game is an asymmetric multiplayer game, much like Dead by Daylight. You play as either the Deadites or Ash and other human characters who must fight against each other to the death in levels that span all Evil Dead movies as well as the short-lived TV show.
The game weirdly doesn’t have any minimum specifications listed, but here’s a quick look at the recommended specifications in case you plan on picking it up:
OS: Windows 10 64 bit
Processor: Intel i7-7700 / AMD Ryzen 2600X
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: GTX 1070 Ti / RX 5600 XT
Evil Dead: The game releases May 13, 2020 as an Epic Store exclusive for a year, after which it will probably arrive on Steam.
